Kaoru Watanabe and Bloodlines Interwoven

Kaoru Watanabe and Bloodlines Interwoven

* Programme subject to change

Created by musician Kaoru Watanabe, Bloodlines Interwoven was conceived as a dialogue among musicians and artists from diverse diasporas, fostering a profound exchange of the elements that constitute culture: language, food, religions, customs, and philosophies. The concert brings together composers, a mezzo-soprano, a harpist, a singer, and various artists playing different instruments.

The proposal articulates works developed from personal experiences, with repertoires that intertwine cultural influences and diverse musical structures. The compositions include song cycles and collective segments that connect music with family memories and community processes. Through collaborative creation, the project activates reflection on belonging, displacement, heritage, migration, and memory, taking shape as a shared performative practice.
