Have you ever wondered what would happen if an entire town decided to rise up against injustice? 

For this edition of Cervantino, the community of Juan Xidó de Abajo, Cabras, in Guanajuato, invites us to discover their representation of Ovejuna. This is a free adaptation of Lope de Vega's Fuenteovejuna, which captures the essence of rebellion and the struggle for justice, using the architectural setting of Plaza San Roque to bring to life a story of oppression and resistance.

The staging by Teatro Comunitario Cabras seeks to transport us to the heart of Ovejuna, a town oppressed by its authorities and suffering the abuses of power. In the face of tyranny, the inhabitants decide to take justice into their own hands. This show will not only be a treat for lovers of classical theatre, but also a reflection on the power of community and the importance of speaking out against injustice.
