Edipo has defeated the dreaded sphinx and is now king of Thebes, a city struck by a plague. Suffering will cease once the mystery of the previous king, Layo, is solved. Edipo begins his investigations without knowing that this will lead him to discover the trap that fate has set for him from his birth. This story by Sophocles inspired the Tijuana contemporary dance company Lux Boreal to create Mamá. A show in which the body and the voice will serve to bring to the scene human vulnerability, the inevitable destiny. With texts by Jean Cocteau taken from the libretto for the opera - oratorio Edipo Rey by Igor Stravinsky. A co-production of the Tijuana Cultural Center and Lux Boreal.
