Enrique Eskeda

General manager of the Salón Los Ángeles

Composer, conductor and pianist, graduated with a major in Composition from the Department of Music of the University of Guanajuato. His academic music has been performed in different forums in Mexico, the United States and Canada, where he received a scholarship to study composition with Alain Perron and conducting with John Wiebe. He is founder and artistic director of Aeternum Ensemble, a choral music ensemble, and A Tempo Ensemble, a contemporary music ensemble whose objective is to promote new works by Mexican composers. He is also founder and current conductor of the León Philharmonic Orchestra. 

He has taken several workshops and courses of musical improvement. He received a scholarship to carry out a research project on film music at the Mexican Center for Music and Sonic Arts (CMMAS, Centro Mexicano para la Música y las Artes Sonoras), under the direction of Rodrigo Sigal. He has received several awards, academic scholarships and support for research stays at CMMAS, at the Arts Research Program of the University of Veracruz and at the University of Guanajuato. He has composed soundtracks for internationally awarded films. He was a grantee of the programs Young Creators 2013-2014 and México en Escena - Artistic Groups 2021-2023, both from FONCA, as well as PECDA 2018-2019 (Creadores con Trayectoria) . He teaches in the Department of Music at the University of Guanajuato and the Ibero-American University of León. He recently completed a master's degree in Orchestral Conducting at Truman State University (USA), under the tutelage of Sam McClure, and in Composition with Charles Gran.
