The Juárez Theater is an architectural gem that stands out among all others. Its has such beauty that, for many, the design of the engineer José Noriega provides just what is necessary to create environments of great intimacy during stage shows of all kinds.
Crowned by eight muses that rise at the top of the façade and guarded by a pair of lions on the steps, the Juárez Theater represents an era of eclecticism, a mixture of architectural styles whith an interior that will surely captivate anyone who sees it. Its walls keep an unusual past: it used to be a monastery of Discalced Franciscan friars who lived in strict austerity, which was demolished as a result of the confiscation of the Church's assets; later, it became a hotel, the construction of which meant a terrible aggression to the community of Guanajuato.
The shows that will take place in this venue are jewels that shine within this impressive jewelry box founded in 1903, which has witnessed the best of the performing arts of Mexico and the world.
