Channel One Sound System

* Programme subject to change

The living legend of roots reggae and dub culture takes the stage to offer a night that, in the artist’s own words, will be “powerful and spiritual,” rooted in roots reggae, dub culture, and the teachings of Rastafari.

Renowned for their exclusive vinyl selections, Channel One brings roots and heavy rhythms to life through their custom-built analogue sound system. Mikey Dread leads the session, delivering conscious and uplifting music that spreads messages of unity, resistance, and love.

Icons of Notting Hill Carnival and ambassadors of global reggae, they promise a sonic experience that goes beyond a concert: earth-shaking bass, awakening messages, and a collective energy that transcends music itself.

Press quotes

“Channel One: The reggae sound system shaking the foundations of British music.”

The Guardian

“Channel One’s ability to draw people to the dance –and keep them dancing– is a skill honed over decades.”

The Skinny, 2015

“Channel One is an institution. Preaching the gospel of righteous music and deep bass for five decades, the sound system continues on its path of dub, roots, and conscious reggae, delivering celestial vibrations.”

Clash Music

“Witnessing Channel One in full flight is one of the most special experiences of the Notting Hill Carnival. This writer grew up surrounded by dub and reggae nights in Scotland —some talented selectors, but truly only an echo of the real thing. Stumbling into the crowd on that legendary corner was a connection that hits the chest and lifts the heart, with roots music at its finest.”
