Led by Veracruz-born musician Luis Martínez, Violeta Ortega and Puerto Candela present a programme that blends Afro-Latin rhythms with original arrangements and compositions. On this occasion, they pay tribute to composers from Veracruz, Guanajuato, and other regions whose work has shaped popular music in Mexico and Latin America. The repertoire includes songs such as Amor de mis amores, Mundo raro, Te quiero dijiste, La llorona, as well as original pieces like Piquito de gallo and A la raza de bronce. With experience in genres such as bolero, danzón, and son montuno, Martínez leads a project that bridges tradition and contemporary creation.
The concert journeys through various musical expressions, paying tribute to figures such as Agustín Lara, María Grever, David Haro, and José Alfredo Jiménez, and opens a dialogue between the country’s sonic legacy and new forms of interpretation.
