Sones y canciones de Guerrero

Guerrero

This show is a journey through the musical identity of the state of Guerrero, exploring the musical landscapes of the Tierra Caliente, Costa Chica, and Zona Centro regions. The journey begins in the heart of the latter, reviving the tradition of the Tixtla sonority, where the tapping of feet on the wood sets the rhythm for pieces such as El palomo and La petenera. It then moves to Tierra Caliente, paying tribute to figures such as Isaías Salmerón and Juan Bartolo Tavira.

Finally, the program is swept away by the rhythm of the Costa Chica. Amid playful chilenas and columbias, songs like Piropos costeños and Atolito con el dedo celebrate the joyful spirit and cultural heritage of the Guerrero coast.
