Rita Donte

Ritual

Cuba

Si un día de estos me pierdo, llévame a bailar contigo, con las mareas y el viento (‘If one of these days I get lost, take me dancing with you, with the tides and the wind,’) Rita Donte calls out to the Moon in Misteriosa, the opening to the album Ritual, a universe that celebrates inner strength, memory and freedom.

Produced and arranged by Gustavo Guerrero, Ritual is a round-trip journey to Cuba. Through rhythms such as the conga, bolero, son, guaguancó and other sounds with African roots, the songs become part of a journal in which the Cuban singer shares stories that speak of identity, migration and gratitude for life.

This concert is an invitation to immerse yourself in a musical display of songs that invite you to dance, evoke the nostalgia of the migrant and celebrate life. All the magic that unfolds on stage is made possible by a great musical family. On this occasion, to perform Ritual, Donte is accompanied by the talents of Alfredo Pino, Laura Itandehui, Reynier Limonta, Vico Díaz, Lucas Bennett, Eugenio Ríos, Reinier Nariño, Félix Betancourt and Gustavo Guerrero himself, who together bring this musical ritual full of roots, emotion and movement to life.

Artists

‘Rita Donte’s new album is a return, not only to the musical roots that shaped her from her childhood in Cuba, but also to the longings that once dreamed of becoming songs.’

Rafa G. Escalona

‘Despite her youth, her soul belongs to another era. Rita Donte’s voice (Havana, 1989) sounds as if it came from the past.’
