Migration has shaped humanity since its origins, and no society has remained untouched by it. Drawing on years of international research, Tamara Cubas gives voice to the migratory journeys of women from different continents.
On a stage covered in salt, personal stories unfold through songs, dances, rituals, and texts. Seven women traverse the world, summoned to the periphery, to invoke a collective enchantment. A community that spans languages, rites, songs, and dances, aiming to offer the audience a reflection necessary to awaken them and broaden their horizons.
Driven by a deep desire to immerse herself in the journeys of migrant women who traverse deserts and seas in search of transforming their lives, the Uruguayan artist honors women, their resilience, their will to survive, and their defiance in the face of patriarchal oppression.

“To summon in order to invoke a jolt. The world needs a jolt, a jolt to enchant the world. To summon the periphery to invoke an enchantment of the world. It is necessary to re-enchant the world.”
— Tamara Cubas
“It is a theatrical form that goes beyond itself. We feel all the previous and future forms that this project ferments, an ageless ritual that addresses, through our bodies, all the generations we carry within us”.
— Marie Sorbier, Festival d’Avignon
“A moving, inevitably poignant work about and with women who refused to leave their country even though their lives there were in danger, Uruguayan Tamara Cubas gives a voice back to those who never had one”.
— Nadja Povel, Festival d'Avignon
"A project that moves beyond the victimizing narratives surrounding an experience we know to be dramatic, choosing instead to focus on the strength of these women who embark on this journey ready to face whatever stands in their way, employing survival strategies, because their desire and need for change drive them to undertake this risky adventure."
