From Santa María Tlahuitoltepec, heirs of the Mixe musical tradition of the Sierra Norte de Oaxaca, comes this powerful ensemble with airs of funk, Balkan music and sunn (son mixe). Musicians with wide and diverse backgrounds come together on stage to offer improvisation and dance with the flavor of their land.
Los Pream are a valuable example of the musical and creative level that is generated in the Sierra Mixe. In this way, they show from the inside out their unique way of making the music they are passionate about.

“Los Pream for me held the whole Africa Express show and I think they all complemented each other very well and at the end Damon Albarn's presence and direction also was a highlight”.

“Among the landscapes of Santa María Tlahuitoltepec, in the mountains from Oaxaca, a group of philharmonic orchestra conductors and jazz lovers awake, live and breathe together with the music. In this way, they gathered in the heat of a good mezcal, pulque, party, friendship and their interest in expanding the universe of sound, they created Los Pream”.
Karina Corona, Reporte Índigo
“By then, people were hooked. Not only hooked, but hypnotized. From the beginning of the concert, the group transformed the place into an urban calenda (A festivity from Oaxaca), with powerful, contemporary music. A music in which the tradition of the Oaxacan wind bands met the spontaneity of improvisation and the freedom of dancing”.
