Cuarteto Ruvalcaba
Mexico
The ensemble’s repertoire spans the fundamental works for string quartet, from classicism to contemporary creation, and includes works by Mexican and Latin American composers. The selection of repertoire builds bridges between tradition and the present, between the established canon and the voices that broaden and enrich the current musical landscape.
On stage, four voices converge in dialogue and, with the help of the score, give rise to a shared reflection and an exchange of ideas in the search for their own sonic identity. In their live performances, such as the Candlelight series or their concerts at Sala Manuel M. Ponce of Palacio de Bellas Artes, this identity is expressed with great precision.
Profiles
“They worked together before, they understood one another, and above all, they listen to one another. They are a solid sonic instrument.”

“The phrasing that Cuarteto Ruvalcaba possesses, their musicality, their understanding of the character of each work, the nuances and ornaments they work on are admirable.”
