Les Métaboles
Voces esculpidas
France
Léo Warynski and his ensemble, Les Métaboles, present an odyssey that explores the invisible bridges between the Renaissance and modernity, beginning with the visionary Renaissance harmonies of Roland de Lassus’s (also known as Orlando di Lasso) Prophetiae Sibyllarum. The repertoire delves into the aesthetic impact that the discovery of Italian beauty had on 19th-century French composers, showing how that legacy of the past breathes through the voices of the present.
One of the highlights of this journey is the inclusion of a previously unperformed a cappella choral version of Debussy’s Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun. The result is a display of virtuosity and sensitivity, achieving a perfect synthesis between Renaissance tradition and French technical innovation.
