Orquesta Sinfónica de la Universidad de Guanajuato, OSUG

It has a privileged place in the musical landscape of México as one of the most prestigious orchestral ensembles in the country and with a solid international projection. It is a living testimony of the long cultural tradition of the state of Guanajuato and is the first permanent professional orchestra of a Mexican university. Since its foundation, important soloists and conductors have participated in the orchestra's programs.

Due to its high interpretative quality, the OSUG is the resident orchestra of the Festival Internacional Cervantino and has participated in this festival with programs of great importance. Thanks to its enormous repertoire, dynamism and personality, it has been invited to various national festivals and has made multiple international tours. In June 2015 Roberto Beltrán-Zavala was appointed main director of the OSUG. With a solid international career and a busy concert schedule his focus on orchestral sound and post-Romantic repertoire has given the OSUG a profound personality as an artistic entity.
