Quiatora Monorriel
Quiatora Monorriel was founded in 1992 in Mexico City, under the direction of Evoé Sotelo and Benito González from Sonora. The company has distinguished itself by proposing a critical perspective on the expressive and conceptual potentials of the body, distanced by conviction from the traditional voices in art. QM artistic personality is characterized by its vocation for continuous research and experimentation within the vast significant territory of the body and the stage. Its directors have been distinguished with several awards and recognitions, among them the National Dance Prize INBA-UAM in 1997 and 2002. They have been members of the Sistema Nacional de Creadores de Artes on several occasions. The group, which develops its artistic proposal both in Mexico City and Hermosillo, Sonora, has performed in the most important dance forums and festivals in Mexico, as well as in the United States, Costa Rica, Chile, Bolivia, Argentina, Germany and Belgium.
