Floriana Frassetto
She studied at the Alessandro Fersen Academy in Rome from 1967 to 1969. She completed her training as an actress while attending a school for mime and acrobatics at Roy Bosier's Teatro Studio. Afterwards, she worked with Roy Bosier's company in several school productions that toured Italy. The idea of founding Mummenschanz came about when he met Andres Bossard and Bernie Schürch, two young Swiss clowns called Before and Lost who were performing a partially spoken show, at the end of 1970. Frassetto became the third member of the troupe in 1972 and together they created the Mummenschanz repertoire, converting the spoken numbers to masked visuals. She has toured the world for the past 47 years. She is a craftswoman of fantasy and was always motivated to build new forms together with Schürch. After the latter's retirement in 2012, she was tormented by the challenge of creating new shows, which she has now succeeded in doing with innovative ideas thanks to the collaboration with Tina Kronis and Richard Alger. Other notable participations include the creation of the choreography and costumes for Giancarlo Sbragia's Faust and for André Heller's musical Body and Soul, as well as an artistic collaboration with Isabelle Baudet for the children's musical Oliver Twist in Switzerland.
