Adriana Castaños

Artistic director of AMAUNAM

She began her professional work as a dancer and choreographer in 1981, since then she has created more than sixty works and performed many others. Her artistic work has been presented in Mexico, United States, Canada, Ecuador, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Spain, Italy, Sarajevo, Switzerland and India. She has received several awards and recognitions, among them: the National Dance Award in 1988, the Guillermina Bravo Award in 2002 for her artistic career and the International Choreography Award in Monterrey in 2009. She has been a scholar of the National System of Creators of Art, 1993-1999, 2004-2007 and 2016-2019. The National Institute of Fine Arts awarded her the Bellas Artes Medal 2014. In 1997 she founded in Hermosillo Producciones la lágrima, since that year she was part of the teaching staff of the degree in Performing Arts at the University of Sonora.
