Rodrigo Cuevas
Arcoíris Award 2022 of the Ministry of Equality, Ojo Crítico de RNE Award 2021 to Modern Music, MIN Award 2020 to the Revelation Artist and to the Best Fusion and World Music Album, Camaretá Award to the best singer for his composition and hymn Rambalín, Rodrigo Cuevas (Oviedo, 1985) is a phenomenon of the performing arts as well as of communication in its widest sense, a total artist in a constant process of sustainable growth.
Since 2019 and up to date, the Asturian has matured in a very significant way as an artist and as a person. With a tour like Trópico de Covadonga that has allowed him to tour countless cities in Europe, almost 20 performances in France, and also to visit America and the Middle East, having hung the sold-out sign in a large part of the performances, many of them apotheosis like those of the Grec in Barcelona or the Circo Price in Madrid, to name just two.
In the same way, the release of his second studio album, the acclaimed Manual de cortejo (Aris Música/ Altafonte distribution) produced by Refree, meant the phonographic recognition of the specialized critics and of a very demanding public, letting him to go beyond the orbit and the folk scene, or rather, meaning for folk a generous, full, wide and seductive sonic pasture for many listeners, for artists and for everyone, in general.
In recent years, Rodrigo has also had the opportunity to record great collaborations in albums by Rozalén, Zahara, the Puerto Rican iLE, Vicente Navarro or Clara Peya.
The energy, emotion and dedication of Rodrigo Cuevas orbit now, after these dazzling years, to face the double new challenge of presenting a new tour and a new album in 2023, this time with a much more global vision if possible: from the soil of Piloña, Asturies and the northwest of the peninsula, to the world as a whole.
