Helena Zuzeth González López
Born in Hermosillo, Sonora. She studied Communication at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla and later specialized in Digital Media and advertising at UNINCUBE - Upaep. She has created, directed and participated in all kinds of advertising and marketing campaigns for the press, small and medium-sized companies, foundations and civil associations. Her hobbies include filmmaking. She has participated as producer and coordinator for commercials and advertising spots. Also, as production assistant for Alemán music video Quién si no feat. Muelas De Gallo, the fiction short films Chichi’ales (Dir. Josian López, 2019) and El jardín (Susana Del Toro, 2019), the reality show Ultimate Player (Dir. Daniel Guillen, 2019). In 2020 she directed her first short film as a director, called Favor Fatal and made in collaboration with The Film Club. In 2021 she ventured as an independent producer coordinating the short film projects Helena and Lentes rosas. Both projects were made with a crew led mostly by women.
In 2022 she served as a juror for the 2022 Second Period Evaluation Council for the reception of investment projects in national film production by IMCINE.
She also founded Morritas Films; a group of filmmakers dedicated to promoting social awareness of women's issues through audiovisual projects. Since then, she has organized several screenings of films made by women, as well as film production workshops. She will soon be collaborating to provide audiovisual training to young people at ITAMA, Centro Especializado de Internamiento para Adolescentes Hermosillo (Hermosillo Specialized Adolescent Detention Center). She is also about to collaborate as production manager for the short film Lumbre by renowned filmmaker Santiago Manríquez.
