The string quartet, which name means "music and singing" in Mayan language, is a group that has taken on the task of promoting and disseminating Mexican music in different forums nationwide and internationally. Currently, its members are part of the Symphonic Orchestra of the University of Guanajuato. The quartet, formed by Héctor Hernández (violin I), Carlos Reyes (viola), Andrés Gallegos (violin II) and Armando Delgado (cello), is characterized by taking Mexican compositions to another level, giving them a new meaning without losing their uniqueness. Their arrangements lead the audience to experience emotions ranging from melancholy to euphoria and provoke a sense of belonging and rootedness to the ancient traditions of this land.
