Orquesta Típica de la Ciudad de México
Its predecessor is the Orquesta Típica Mexicana (Typical Mexican Orchestra) founded by Carlos Curti in 1884. It has accompanied the development of Mexican society, being present in transcendental moments for the country such as the Porfiriato, Revolution and Post Revolution, being also a reference that enhances values and feelings of identity. As an intangible cultural heritage, it is characterized by its endowment of typical and symphonic instruments and a mixed choir. The OTCM preserves a particular typical and academic repertoire that evokes past times but is also open to new compositions. In addition, it preserves and disseminates the history and musical diversity of the country, fostering among the inhabitants of Mexico City social cohesion and reflection of their identity through its performances.
