Ballet Folklórico de la Universidad de Guanajuato
It was founded between November 1985 and April 1986 under the direction of América Balbuena Cisneros, who is famous for her work in rescuing the traditions of the State of Guanajuato and Mexico. During its consolidation, the group received courses from various choreographers and distinguished teachers of this discipline, who have offered their knowledge regarding specific regions in order to enrich their work. Such enrichment and learning actions, coupled with the vision of its current director, Roberto Martínez Rocha, resulted in a fascinating and precious choreographic show that has been presented in authoritative forums and festivals of the state, the country, and abroad such as the Cervantino Festival, the International Folklore Festival of Zacatecas, the International Dance Festival of Tlaxcala, the Tabasco Fair, the University Folklore Festival of Nayarit; the "Encuentros" Festival in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, the Tepic Festival, the National Folklore Festival in Kalkini Campeche, the Morelia Folklore Festival of 2015 and the Dessert Festival in San Luis Potosi, among others.
