Rosario Flores

Rosario Flores

Singer  |  España

The Spanish singer of gypsy origin made her first musical incursion in 1984 with the mini-LP Vuela de noche. Later she recorded what is considered her first album, De Ley (1992), mostly composed by her brother Antonio. In 1996 she recorded Mucho por vivir, a clear tribute to her brother's memory. After the success of her first three albums, Rosario decided to go fully into rock music without losing her gypsy roots, and that is how Jugar a la locura appeared in 1999. That was a risky album, but for the first time in her life, she was nominated for a Latin Grammy. With Muchas Flores (2001), perhaps her most rumba album, she received the Latin Grammy in 2002 for Best Female Pop Vocal Album and a Music Award for Best Song for Como quieres que te quiera. A year later, she was awarded a second Latin Grammy for Best Female Pop Album with De mil colores (a thousand colors). Other works include: Contigo me voy (2006), Parte de mí (2008), for which she won the Ondas de la Música Music Award for best album of the year in 2008, Raskatriski (2011), Rosario (2012), Gloria a ti (2016) and Te lo digo todo y no te digo na (2021). In addition, she was a judge in two editions of La Voz Kids and starred in films such as Pedro Almodóvar's Hable con ella.
