Namsadang Nori

Namsadang Nori (touring company performance) is a traditional theatrical performance that a group of artists named Namsadang has passed down from generation to generation. It combines singing, dance, music and performance. Among the six components of Namsadang Nori, five are interpreted on stage, including pungmul nori (traditional Korean percussion instruments), salpan (acrobatics), beona nori (spinning plates), deotboegi (mask dance), etc. Exciting and physically demanding performances such as salpan, sogonori (percussion and dance performance with a small hand drum), yeoldubal sangmonori (tasseled hat play), and mudong nori, where children dressed up as monks perform acrobatics and stunts on the shoulders of adult performers.
