
Raúl Tamez
He holds an undergraduate degree in contemporary dance from the National School of Classical and Contemporary Dance from INBAL, and a master's degree in dance from Liverpool John Moores University in the United Kingdom, which he obtained with the FINBA-CONACYT scholarship. He was invited by the Limón Dance Company for the 2022 season at the Joyce Theater in New York. In 2017 and 2018 he was awarded two Lunas from the National Auditorium for the creation of the Mexico City International Contemporary Dance Festival. He also won the Guillermo Arriaga National Dance Award in 2016. He has performed in countries such as China, Canada, Holland, Lithuania, Latvia and Spain. In Mexico, he danced at CEPRODAC and with choreographers such as Tania Pérez Salas, Alicia Sánchez, Óscar Ruvalcaba and Jaime Camarena. He has won several awards, accolades, and scholarships for technical improvement. He has received support from INBA, CONACYT, FONCA, PECDA and EFIARTES. In the main theaters of the country over fifteen plays of his authorship have been presented, as well as on several international stages. He has made physical theater productions, opera, and commissions for television. He participated as a soloist dancer in the Monterrey International Ballet Gala 2019. Currently, alongside Rodrigo González, he is the director of Infinita Compañía.
