
Luis Castillo
Born in Benjamín Hill, Sonora, he graduated with a degree in Music from the University of Sonora. He has performed more than 20 different roles as a soloist
between sacred music and opera and has participated in different national and international operatic improvement courses such as: Ars Vocalis Mexico 2012 where he received master classes with the great Mexican tenors Francisco Araiza and Javier Camarena, also in the XIII, XV and XVI International Meeting of Opera Artescénica A.C.; recently he was part of the first generation in the course for directors and opera singers at the Vienna Opera Academy 2019 in Austria. He was winner of the Jesús Li award for Best Male Voice during the first lyrical singing competition of the University of Sonora in 2014; he received the Young Talent recognition in the framework of the Alfonso Ortiz Tirado Festival 2015; he was winner of the First Place in the Opera Phoenix International Southwest Vocal Competition 2018.
He currently teaches Singing and Choir at the Fray Ivo Toneck Conservatory of Music, as well as being Main Director of the Fray Ivo Tonek Youth Philharmonic Orchestra in Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico.
