Briceida Cuevas Cob

She is originally from Tepakán, Calkiní, Campeche (1969). The Mayan poet is one of the most recognized figures of literature in indigenous languages in México and Latin America. She is the author of several books and publishes in national and international magazines. She is a regular guest of academic and literary meetings in México, as well as America and Europe countries. She was founder of the Asociación de Escritores en Lenguas Indígenas de México A.C. (Association of Writers in Indigenous Languages of México). She was part of the National System of Art Creators in 2009 and 2013 as an artistic creator and received the Wikaráame medal (Chihuahua, 2018).
