Carla Mireya Álvarez
She is a matriartivist, scenic creator, teacher and theatrical manager with an intercultural and gender approach. She is artistic director and producer at Gypsies Theater. Thematically, her work is based on dissident political positions. Aesthetically she seeks the desacralization of theatrical spaces, as well as the intervention of non-theatrical spaces prioritizing the potential of presence and performativity. Her work has participated in international, national and state festivals, such as the Encuentro de Teatro del Mercosur 2013 or as a guest at the Festival Internacional de Teatro Universitario (UNAM, 2018), she has also performed in Spain, Colombia, Argentina and Panama. Her work has been part of the Muestra Nacional de Teatro (2021) and the Encuentros Estatales de Guanajuato (2020 and 2021). She has been a beneficiary of the Creadores Escénicos program by SACPC in 2019 and 2022. The Más Escena 2021 award by the Cultural Institute of León and the PECDA of Guanajuato in 2017. Her group has obtained the Program for the Promotion of Cultural Projects in 2013, 2017 and 2022.
