One of Brazil's most renowned theater companies presents the universe of cabaret, from Brecht to the present day. This show presents an aging and decadent company that, despite all the difficulties and misfortunes, moves forward and reaffirms art as a place of identity and belonging. Mixing a repertoire of songs performed live with varied and dance numbers, fragments of texts from Brecht's work and scenes from their own dramaturgy. Cabaret Courage invites the audience to a sonorous and visual journey, where social and political criticism alternates with the libertarian style typical of this genre.
PRESS QUOTES
“But this is not a celebration of any kind, but a play directed and created by a group that pays homage, from its beginnings, to the German playwright Bertolt Brecht. This author is present throughout this production, either in references to his works or in nominals. In other words, this is a cabaret in which popular art is deeply pierced by the struggle of classes.”

“Grupo Galpão is inspired by the work of Bertolt Brecht (1898-1956) to paint a panorama of the cabaret universe, from the time of the German playwright to the contemporary era. The play, whose name refers to Mother Courage, a character by Bretch, follows a decadent group and mixes live music, dance numbers and fragments of texts by the author.”
