Ensemble Modern
Germany
A bold, uncompromising, and energetic approach defines Ensemble Modern, the German ensemble returning to Mexico with a program that celebrates the stylistic breadth of contemporary music through works by Georg Friedrich Haas, Clara Iannotta, Vito Žuraj, Jennifer Walshe, Ted Hearne, Diana Syrse, and Chaya Czernowin.
In this performance, the ensemble serves as an essential and aesthetically multilingual amplifier of acoustic concepts that are shaping contemporary musical trends.
Their repertoire explores microtonality, delicate textures, virtuosic ensemble writing, and performative approaches ranging from spectral auditory universes and extended instrumental techniques to works that engage with popular culture, electronics, and the physical experience of sound. With this performance, the ensemble invites us to ask ourselves: How is sound perceived beyond mere listening?
