Her concerts, full of music for dancing, speak of life in the Mexican coast. “La Morena” performs in garments that represent her community: Costa Chica in Oaxaca. Each song evokes the Third Root and the history of black people in Mexico. It is impossible to forget pieces in her concerts such as La llorona and Dios nunca muere, which have become anthems. For dancing there is La bamba, La culebra and typical songs of her region. The piano marks the tumbaos and the wind instruments invite you to move your body, while Alejandra dances tap or zapateado on a wooden platform, waving a red handkerchief as a sign of celebration.

Alejandra's vocal range is so versatile that it oscillates between a rural voice and an operatic voice like Yma Sumac.

“Folklore and traditional music representative in Mexico and the world, owner of an exceptional voice that reaffirms her Afromestizo roots, Alejandra Robles is a singer and producer originally from Oaxaca.”

RadioMás.

“Alejandra has always been certain that her vocation lies in interpreting the beauty of the traditional music, and dances of these coasts, including the sonera tradition of Veracruz and Caribbean rhythms of our Latin America in her experience, constantly feeding back on this cultural richness, in the face of her feelings and affections.”

Radio Ciudadana, IMER.

"For centuries this culture, which has been alive, has been denied by the history of our country. It is relevant that people self-register as black in the population census, because thanks to that count we will not be seen as a minority, and it will be possible to make up for the lack of education and health."

Ana Mónica Rodríguez, La Jornada.
