This work transforms the space into a stage/museum that presents original pieces by master craftsmen that are unique in their genre. Luis Villalobos is an on-stage craftsman who performs with the foot pedal wheel, tuba, pyrotechnics, the feather dance and other living traditions of Oaxaca. The project began in 2018, when Villalobos and director Alberto Villarreal toured craftsmen workshops seeking to be accepted as apprentices.

From this experience, we will see a historical fiction about 'things that are told in the craftsmen workshops'. The main link is the life story of El Gran Cochinilla, a mestizo craftsman who, after migrating to Los Angeles, returned to Mexico to become a grenadier, fight in Nochixtlán and finally meet the four Madames of the Death.

Wheel and return burned ochre (Torno y retorno. Ocre Quemado), text and direction by Alberto Villarreal, with the performance of Luis Villalobos and the direction and technical assistance of Jorge Lemus, is a piece that uses the wheel to create clay objects. The kicking for the wheel to spin is a metaphor for the movement of the universe. In that sense, Villarreal's plastic proposal is symbolic and abstract, it has to do with the ordering of chaos, and in that way he is the demiurge that illuminates an interpretation of Mexican identity”.

Juan Hernández, El Heraldo de México

"Wheel and return burned ochre (Torno y retorno, ocre Quemado) is inspired by a set of symbols, references and experiences that do not express a particular model in any real person, although it evokes numerous.”

Luz Emilia Aguilar Zinser, Paso de Gato

“Since 2016, actor and producer Luis Villalobos wanted to propose a theatrical work that would be a manifestation and expression of an Oaxacan art group, in the face of the brutal production systems that exist today; consequently he came to prepare the monologue “Wheel and Return” (Torno y retorno. Ocre Quemado), with direction and dramaturgy by Alberto Villarreal”.
