
Jaime Castro Pineda
Originally from Morelia, he began his musical training at the age of eight as a soloist with the choir Los Niños Cantores de Morelia. He studied Voice and Choral Conducting at Conservatorio de las Rosas and INBA’s Escuela Superior de Música. He has worked on operatic productions such as La Rondine, Atzimba, Il barbiere di Siviglia, Les mamelles de Tirésias, The Little Prince, The Adventures of Pinocchio, and Cri-Cri Sinfónico.
Since 2015, he has directed Coro del Teatro del Bicentenario, with whom he has prepared both operatic and symphonic repertoire, including Requiem K.626, La Creación, Carmina Burana, Mahler symphonies, and operas by Mozart, Verdi, Puccini, Donizetti and Rossini. He is Artistic Advisor to the Coros del Valle de Señora project, through which he has carried out important educational and artistic work with children's choirs. In 2020, he founded Ensamble Vocal Valle de Señora.
He has studied with renowned Maestros such as Digna Guerra, James Burton and José Areán. In addition to his work as a conductor, he is an active performer of art song and lied.
