
Betuel RamÃrez
Born in Xalapa, she has performed as a soloist and orchestral musician in China, Italy, the Netherlands, Brazil, and Chile. She earned the “Virtuoso Diploma” from Musical Arts in Madrid and completed her master’s degree at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, studying under Erika Waanderburg and Sandrine Chatrón. Recognized as a “Gran Talent” by the Conservatory of Amsterdam, she has won important awards including second place at the International Harp Competition in Sandsted, Germany; first place in the Jóvenes Solistas UNAM competition (2011); and first place at Mexico’s Concurso Nacional de Arpa (2007 and 2009).
In Mexico, she has performed as a soloist with Orquesta de Cámara de Bellas Artes, Orquesta Filarmónica de Boca del Río, Orquesta Sinfónica de la Universidad de Guanajuato, Camerata de Coahuila, among others. She has served as Principal Harpist with Orquesta de la Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo and Orquesta Filarmónica de Boca del Río.
In 2021, she was selected as Creador Escénico by the Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes. Currently, Betuel Ramírez is Principal Harpist of the Sichuan Symphony Orchestra, becoming the first Mexican harpist to hold this distinction internationally, and is also Principal Harpist of Orquesta Filarmónica del Desierto in Coahuila.
