Originally from Guanajuato, he graduated from UNAM and holds a master’s and doctorate from the University of California, San Diego. A specialist in contemporary music, he has premiered works as a soloist and with ensembles in Mexico and abroad. His work spans chamber music, improvisation, technology, and interdisciplinary projects. He is a founder of Tambuco and a member of ÓNIX Ensamble and Dúplum. He has received recognition from institutions such as the Rockefeller Foundation, INBAL, FONCA, and UNAM. He currently coordinates the percussion department at Universidad de Guanajuato and was a recipient of the Creadores con Trayectoria programme in 2017 and 2023.
