Bloodlines Interwoven

In 2024, flutist and percussionist Kaoru Watanabe created Bloodlines Interwoven, an artistic collective whose proposal explores heritage, migration, and diaspora through music, cooking, and storytelling.

The collective is made up of composers with diverse backgrounds: mezzo-soprano Alicia Hall Moran, multi-instrumentalist and dancer Jen Shyu, harpist Maeve Gilchrist, singer Martha Redbone, bassist and sound creator Matthew Garrison, Filipino-American percussionist Susie Ibarra, and Watanabe himself.
