He began his musical training at the age of ten in his home country, Colombia, at Academia Luis A. Calvo, where he specialised in música llanera. From the age of eleven, he was accompanied by Zahira Noguera in music competitions. The grandson of a renowned maraquero who was part of Luis Ariel Rey’s group, Elvis has performed across a range of musical genres, from classical to jazz, although his passion and dedication have always been rooted in the traditional music of the llanos of Colombia and Venezuela.
