Son Luna
Tipo de artista: Group
It is a renowned son jarocho ensemble that emerged in the early 1990s with the aim of preserving Veracruz’s rich musical tradition while offering a contemporary approach. Their music is marked by constant experimentation, exploring new directions within son jarocho.
They compose based on pre-existing songs and rhythms, while integrating percussion instruments such as the cajón, drum set, djembe, and pandero into the traditional foundations of the genre. Their hallmark is the incorporation of zapateado as a percussive element in every artistic production. Currently, Son Luna accompanies the performances of the Jóvenes Zapateadores company.
