Latvian Radio Choir

Founded in 1940, the Latvian Radio Choir is an ensemble whose repertoire ranges from early music and classicism to romanticism and contemporary compositions. In 2023, it received the Gramophone Choral Award for its recording John Cage. Choral Works. The choir has also won the Latvian Grand Music Award on multiple occasions, as well as the Cabinet of Ministers Award. Its album featuring Tchaikovsky’s Liturgy of St John Chrysostom was named Best Choral Work at the 2020 International Classical Music Awards. In 2022, it received the Latvian National Award for Excellence in Culture.
