Originally from San Luis de la Paz, Guanajuato, he holds a Law degree from the Universidad de Guanajuato. He has an extensive background in the legal, educational, and cultural fields. He has held various public and university positions, and for more than eighteen years has been a professor at the same university.

His artistic training began in 1977 with the group El Barretero and was consolidated at the Teatro Universitario, which he joined in 1990. There, he has acted in numerous classical and contemporary productions, such as Entremeses Cervantinos, Retablillo Jovial, reviving the play Dos Hombres en la Mina, as well as in new productions of El alcalde de Zalamea, Don Juan Tenorio, Los Justos, Antígona, Todo por la Paz, Hablemos claro and El Susto, the latter a dark comedy of his own authorship.

In 2014 he was named director of the Teatro Universitario group, a position he currently holds, continuing Eugenio Trueba’s legacy with commitment and creativity.
