Juan Pablo Villa

As a composer and performer, his musical work spans traditional Mexican music, experimental music and extended vocal techniques. With over thirty years of experience, Juan Pablo Villa is a multidisciplinary artist who has collaborated nationally and internationally in film and performing arts productions.

 

In theatre, he has worked both as a composer and live musician in various projects with Compañía Nacional de Teatro, the company Idiotas Teatro, and with directors such as Luis de Tavira, Alicia Ramírez, Ricardo Ramírez Carnero, Francisco Franco and Carlos Camarillo, among others. In dance, he has collaborated with Gabriela Gullco, Raúl Tamez, Carolina Jiménez, Martha Hincapié Charry, Jaime Camarena, Vicente Silva, Paula Rechtman and Danza UNAM. He co-composed the score with Pascual Reyes for the film Radical, directed by Christopher Zalla, which won the Audience Award at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival
