
Arturo López Castillo
He studied at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música with Rosa Rodríguez, as well as courses and masterclasses with prominent artists such as Luis Girón May, among others. He has performed opera, oratorio, cantatas, Lied, early music, and 20th-century and contemporary Mexican song, including the premiere of three song cycles by Enrique González Medina.
Notable opera roles include Don Bartolo in Il barbiere di Siviglia; Haly in L’italiana in Algeri; Alidoro in La Cenerentola by Rossini; Dulcamara in L’elisir d’amore and Don Pasquale, both by Donizetti, among many others.
He has sung with many of Mexico’s leading orchestras in the country’s principal theatres. He has also performed opera in Honduras, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines.
