Gilberto Amaro

Born in Morelia, Michoacán, he studied at the Conservatorio de las Rosas under the guidance of maestro Guadalupe Góngora and continued his studies at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música under maestro Arturo Nieto.

He obtained first place in the Concurso Internacional de Canto Southold Opera Company in New York City; second place in the Concurso Nacional de Canto Carlo Morelli; and other prizes in important competitions, such as the Concurso Nacional de Canto Ópera de San Miguel.

He has performed as a soloist with some of the country’s most important orchestras, including the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional, the Orquesta de Cámara de Minería, the Orquesta de Cámara de Bellas Artes, the Orquesta del Teatro de Bellas Artes, the Camerata de Coahuila, and the Orquesta Sinfónica de Sinaloa, among others.
