Originally from Mali, he is a multi-instrumentalist and griot (traditional musician, poet, and historian of West Africa). Baba carries his music from ancestral traditions into the contemporary world. An undisputed master of the tamani (talking drum), he has been a versatile performer since childhood and possesses a voice of striking power and depth.
