Fernando Alonzo

Originally from Zihuatanejo de Azueta, Guerrero, he began his musical path in the choir of the Casa de la Cultura in his hometown, under the guidance of Edgar Cobo.

He later entered the Conservatorio de Música de Celaya, where he studied under the tutelage of Indira Rodríguez and, subsequently, with Carsten Wittmoser, his current professor in the bachelor’s degree in Singing. During his time at the Conservatory, he has been a member of the Youth Choir, with which he has participated in various operas and concerts, including three editions of the Festival Internacional Cervantino.

As a soloist, he made his debut in 2022 in the tenor role in Carmina Burana with the Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil Silvestre Revueltas and the Orquesta Filarmónica del Estado de Querétaro. He has also appeared as a soloist in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony and in the 52nd edition of the Festival Internacional Cervantino with Dvořák’s Stabat Mater. His operatic debut was in the role of Rodolfo in Puccini’s La Bohème, followed by his portrayal of Albino García in the opera Tresguerras.

He has performed as a soloist in concerts across different venues in Mexico and, as a member of the Octeto Vocal of the Conservatorio de Celaya, toured Europe in June 2024.

In June 2025, he made his first appearance at the Concurso Carlo Morelli, reaching the semifinal stage.
