He has consolidated himself as one of the most outstanding voices in Mexico; his career is mainly operatic, but he has also successfully ventured into genres ranging from early music, zarzuela, and operetta to concert music and works by highly relevant contemporary composers.

Ángeles has performed on the most important stages in Mexico, among them: Teatro de la Ciudad in CDMX, Teatro Macedonio Alcalá, Teatro Degollado, Sala Nezahualcóyotl, Teatro Bicentenario, Teatro Armando Manzanero, Teatro Peón Contreras, Palacio de Bellas Artes, and Auditorio Nacional. He has also appeared in tours and concerts as a soloist and together with vocal ensembles in various regions of North America, Europe, and Asia.

Within his repertoire, he has sung on numerous occasions some of the most renowned concert works, such as Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem, Brahms’ German Requiem, Verdi’s Requiem, and Fauré’s Requiem, among others.

He has also performed modern works of high vocal and musical demand, such as André Previn’s A Streetcar Named Desire, Benjamin Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia and War Requiem, Béla Bartók’s A Kékszakállú Herceg Vára (Bluebeard’s Castle), and Viktor Ullmann’s Der Kaiser von Atlantis (The Emperor of Atlantis), among others.

He has also sung some of the most celebrated works of the traditional opera repertoire, such as Rigoletto, Tosca, Pagliacci, La Traviata, Gianni Schicchi, and La Bohème.

Maestro Enrique Ángeles has been a semifinalist in the Competizione dell’Opera and Neue Stimmen singing competitions, both held in Germany; a finalist in the Concurso Ópera de San Miguel; winner of the INBA/FONCA Prize at the Concurso Carlo Morelli, both in Mexico; and he received a Jury Mention in the Zarzuela category at the first edition of the Virtual SOII Fiorenza Cedolins Competition in 2021, held in Italy.
