Originally from Querétaro, Diego is a musician specialised in low-string instruments such as double bass and guitarrón. His main focus is the evolution of traditional Mexican music. He has worked as a performer, composer and arranger with Son de Madera, Laura Itandehui and Anthony Escandón. In addition to his contribution to the traditional music world, he is a founding member of the jazz trio Maquinita de Ficción, where he fuses modern jazz, Middle Eastern music and complex time signatures. He also directs Mariachi México Contemporáneo.
