An artistic ensemble made up of students and graduates from different academic levels. It is recognised for its commitment to the preservation and dissemination of the cultural heritage of Guanajuato and Mexico, through choreographic and stage productions based on research and ongoing training.

It has performed in countries such as France, the United States, Portugal, Colombia, Paraguay, Belgium and Switzerland, as well as in important national and international forums and festivals, for example: Festival Internacional Cervantino for twenty-two consecutive years, Festival Vallarta Azteca del Folclor Internacional, and the Hannover Fair, among others.

Since 2011, it has been accredited as a Dance Group by the International Council of Organisations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Art (CIOFF) Mexico, under the auspices of UNESCO. It has been nominated three times for the Lunas del Auditorio Nacional prize in the Traditional Dance category. In 2017, it triumphed at Palacio de Bellas Artes with the programme Guanajuato Tierra y Tradición, and three years later represented the state of Guanajuato during the artistic festivities marking the 209th anniversary of Mexico’s Independence.
