Mono Blanco

Tipo de artista: Group

Founded in 1977, the group emerged from a desire to reclaim son jarocho as festive, communal music. In 1980, they began a key phase alongside Don Arcadio Hidalgo, blending the energy of youth with traditional knowledge. They gained national prominence through tours across Mexico supported by SEP and achieved international recognition with performances in over twenty-five countries. Their most important work remains within the jarocho community, promoting son through workshops and fandangos. They have collaborated with musicians from around the world and are committed to exploring fusions with related genres and within the sphere of global music.

Among their international achievements, highlights include their participation in the World Expo in Japan in 2005 and in Shanghai in 2010. In film, they contributed to the soundtracks of Pixar’s Coco and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Another milestone was their 40th-anniversary concert at Palacio de Bellas Artes in 2017.
