
Sir Wayne McGregor

He is internationally renowned for his innovations that have redefined contemporary dance. Over the course of more than thirty years, he has created over 160 works, including more than 40 for his own company and over 20 for The Royal Ballet, where he has been Resident Choreographer since 2006.
His work is part of the repertoire of the world's most prestigious dance companies, including the Paris Opera Ballet, Alvin Ailey, La Scala in Milan, the Bolshoi Theatre and the American Ballet Theatre. He has also choreographed for theatre, film, music, fashion, television and opera.
In 2022, he choreographed the avatar concert ABBA Voyage. In 2017, he founded Studio Wayne McGregor at Here East, the first permanent arts space in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. That same year, he received the Honorary Mention from the British Science Association. He currently serves as an Ambassador for the Arts Foundation, Chair of Elmhurst Ballet School, Vice-President of the Roundhouse, Professor at Trinity Laban, and a member of the Circle of Cultural Fellows at King’s College London.
Since 2021, he has been Director of Dance at La Biennale di Venezia, and in 2024, he was knighted by His Majesty King Charles III in the official Honours List.
